Net models on display

[Picture] Mrs Christine Smart with John Sellar at the unveiling of the superb models of a fly net and a bag net kindly loaned to the Bothy by the family of the late Noel Smart of Joseph Johnston & Son Ltd., Montrose.

Mrs Smart was absolutely delighted at how the models have been re-housed and lit and added how delighted her late husband Noel would have been to see the models displayed.

They certainly add important artefacts to the museum, clearly demonstrating the complexity of salmon nets and the skill required to place them by a crew of six men, frequently working in cold and stormy conditions.
