Knitting Group
Mondays from 10:00 till 12:00

Twelve people dropped into our first Knitting Group session at the Bothy. Many had brought their work and, if they hadn't, said they would bring something next time. Everybody enjoyed a very sociable two hours and was able to exchange ideas and techniques over a cup of tea and a 'piece'.

It was decided that the group, which will be very informal, will meet each Monday morning between 10:00 and 12:00. Everybody will contribute £1 for a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit and towards the upkeep of the Bothy.

The group will undertake individual pieces of knitting but is interested in helping charity groups, finding out about new techniques, and supporting new knitters. The group also expressed an interest in encouraging school children to knit and Mrs McKensie the Head Teacher is keen that this happens

We had a visit from Avril and Gillian from the Puddleduck Patch Knitting Group at Cullen. They were very encouraging, sharing their experiences - and some useful patterns and addresses. We plan to keep in touch with them and to support each other wherever possible.

Anyone who is interested in knitting is welcome to come along to the Knitting group. They will be made very welcome
