| Portsoy's trade and industry have enjoyed a remarkably varied history. This
chamber illustrates the fascinating story of Alexander Brebner's hey day in the
late 1700s with his legitimate and illegitimate business interests.
Rather more recently there was the world wide commerce successfully developed
by the MacDonald Brothers, the ubiquitous canvas buoys produced by Cruickshanks,
and the inauguration of the distillery at Glenglassaugh.
And of course, Portsoy Marble, found as far afield as Edinburgh and
Versailles
